Autumn is coming!

It's coming...it's coming. The cool weather is coming! You can feel the excitement in the air. I picked up some long stemmed pumpkins for a personal training special for the Health Club, today, at Home Depot (only $3.99 each--what a bargain!). Duke is acting friskier, the water bill and electric bill are lower, and I am actually thinking about fall colors and warmer clothes. God, in His wisdom knew that we would need and enjoy some variety. So he gave us not just one, but four seasons to anticipate and prepare for.

Our bodies also respond best to varitey, too. That's what cross-training is all about--one day you might ride a bike, the next you might go for a walk in the park.
Different activities use different muscle fibers and help make for a well-trained and balanced body.

What's your favorite season? What do you like to do for a cardio workout?

Growing up in the northwest my favorite seasons were always spring and fall, I loved the changes in weather during those seasons. But, since moving to Texas I find myself longing for cold, wintery days. I miss snow!

Cardio workout? Workout? I guess if I ever want lose all this baby fat I need to do more than just chase after the kids. Where does one start?

Dear Stephanie,

Walking is always good--if the weather is not cooperating you can go to a mall. If you don't mind working out in your own home, a workout video is a good bet (like kickboxing or Tae Bo). If there is anything else that I can help you with, please let me know.
